Thanks John. Sorry it took a week for your comment to show here, somehow it got caught by my spam filter. Luckily I took a look and rescued it.

I can only imagine what you've seen... I have purposefully left some of my biohazard on the walls (yuck, I know) as a constant reminder of how close I came.

I am nearly done with the table in question, so some blog posts are coming soon. Thanks for looking in!

Glad to hear you are back in business! I love wood working, but pay the bills with work at our local trauma hospital. Makes you use push sticks for everything after you have seen what I have seen.

It's funny how we learn to make the furniture in our homes work for us in any way possible. Then one day you wake up and realize you don't really have to put up with it. I love to hone my skills as a woodworker on projects for our house. We have some crappy end tables that I have my sights on next, just as soon as I finish the walnut nightstands.

Had a response to this via Twitter...

Larry (woodnbits on twitter) apparently has a similar saw and fence. He gave me a simple piece of advice that sounds like it might just work: Push the fence forward against the saw while locking it down. This will release any pressure on the back rail hook, and if the fence is properly aligned, it should straighten out.

I'm definitely going to try this next time I get into the shop. Thanks, Larry!
